2006 Event Summary

A driven dedication to the Alzheimer's Association marked the third annual Corvettes for a Cure on July 23, 2006. The event took place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Phoenixville KMart, located at 1000 Nutt Road. All event proceeds benefited the Association's Delaware Valley Chapter.

92 Corvettes registered for this year's event! That is more than double the previous year! Over $3400 was raised for donation to the Alzheimer's Association, Delaware Valley Chapter (up from $1200 the previous year)!

Event Highlights:

  • Participant judged show with trophies for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners for all six generations of Corvettes: C1, C2, C3, C4, C5 & C6. Plus a Best of Show trophy, Best Custom trophy, Best Club Attendance trophy and a special "Lance Miller's Choice" trophy!

NEW for 2006's event

  • Special Appearance by Lance Miller of Corvettes at Carlisle fame. Lance is the son of legendary Chip Miller, the founder of Carlisle Events. Miller brought one of the famous Corvettes from the Chip Miller Collection, the 1960 "Cunningham" Corvette. Lance also signed autographs and awarded the "Lance Miller's Choice" trophy to Garry Norton with his 1996 Grand Sport Corvette.
  • Larger Trophies
  • "Custom" Class with a "Best Custom" Trophy awarded to Carl Cless with his 1962 "Clockwork Orange" Corvette.
  • "Best Club Attendance" trophy which was won by the Corvette Club of Delaware Valley with 13 Vettes entered in the show!

Special Raffle:

  • A special raffle was held for a chance to win a 12-hour rental of a 2006 Corvette Convertible w/Z51 package, courtesy of The Beau Monde Group. (This is a $250 value!)  This Vette was on display during the show. Over $200 was raised for the charity on this raffle.  The lucky raffle winner was Ron Fortunato, member of the Corvette Club of Delaware Valley.
